Beyond the
straight cut.
Circular parts from a plate. Slices from a cylinder. Or a specific contour: we review what your material and application require.
One plate.
Twelve circular
parts.
Contour cutting allows multiple circular parts to be cut from a single plate. We have carried out this work in our own workshop.
For your project, we also consider the layout, cutting path and required final shape.

Your project
Share your material type, dimensions, drawing and required quantity.
- 02
Technical review
We review the geometry, workholding and required tolerances. Where necessary, we start with a trial cut.

Cutting & inspection
Once approved, we carry out the cutting and check the agreed dimensions.

Engineering expertise
from IBTH.
Our cutting service grew out of the work of Ingenieursbureau ter Horst. We use the diamond wire saw for our own engineering projects and bring that practical experience to yours.
You work with a technically involved partner who considers your material, geometry and manufacturing requirements.
Meet IBTHFrequently asked
questions.
Which materials can you cut?+
We cut materials including ceramics, silicon and germanium. For other materials, we assess feasibility using material details and, if needed, a trial cut.
Can you cut contours?+
Yes. Our 3-axis diamond wire saw has a rotary table and can cut contours. One example is twelve circular parts cut from a single plate. We review your drawing to assess the shape, internal contours and any entry cuts.
What accuracy can you achieve?+
Achievable accuracy depends on the material, dimensions and geometry. Include the required tolerances in your drawing; we confirm what we can deliver before starting your project.
Can you cut a single workpiece?+
You are welcome to submit a single workpiece, test specimen or small batch. Pricing depends on preparation, workholding, material and the cutting involved.
What do you need for a quotation?+
Please provide the material type, initial and final dimensions, quantity, required tolerances and delivery date. Include a drawing or photograph where possible. We assess maximum dimensions including the workholding required.
What shape is
your next project?
Send us your material details and drawing.
We will help you explore the possibilities.
